Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for practical 2026-era applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes at sub-4K temperatures
- Develop error-correction frameworks for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with AI teams to integrate quantum acceleration into machine learning pipelines
- Secure $2M+ in NSF/DARPA quantum research grants
- Mentor PhD interns in quantum information theory
- Author patents for proprietary quantum gate architectures
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent research experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with superconducting qubit systems
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing journals (Nature/Science/Physical Review X)
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum programming frameworks
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and topological qubits
- Strong background in quantum machine learning algorithms
- Security clearance eligibility for DoE-funded projects
