Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for complex computational problems
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Lead prototyping of superconducting/ion-trap qubit architectures
- Collaborate with hardware teams on cryogenic control systems integration
- Publish peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science journals
- Secure $2M+ in DoE/NSF grant funding
- Mentor PhD interns in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science
- 3+ years experience with quantum programming (Qiskit/Cirq)
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes (surface/Steane codes)
- Publication record in top-tier quantum computing conferences
- Proficiency in Python/C++ for quantum simulation frameworks
- Experience with quantum hardware integration (cryogenic systems)
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding
- US citizenship required for government contract work
