Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and cryptography
- Collaborate with hardware teams to mitigate decoherence and error correction challenges
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical computing frameworks for commercial applications
- Lead cross-functional projects with AI and materials science divisions
- Publish research in Nature Physics/Science and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $2M+ in government/industry grants for quantum R&D initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years research
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and Qiskit/Cirq programming frameworks
- Published papers in quantum computing or topological quantum systems
- Proficiency with quantum error correction codes (surface, color codes)
- Experience with superconducting qubit platforms or ion trap systems
- Strong background in linear algebra, statistical mechanics, and complexity theory
- Track record of translating research into commercial quantum applications
