Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum circuits on superconducting quantum processors
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop error mitigation strategies for fault-tolerant systems
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum programming and algorithm development
- Secure $2M+ in government grants and industry partnerships for quantum initiatives
- Develop quantum software SDKs for enterprise clients in finance and pharmaceuticals
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 5+ years industry experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and circuit optimization
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing journals/conferences
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Experience with superconducting quantum processors or trapped-ion systems
- Proven track record of translating quantum algorithms into practical applications
- Strong background in machine learning and high-performance computing
- Ability to secure research funding through DOE/NIST/NSF programs
