Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental quantum computing projects using superconducting qubit and photonic platforms
- Develop error correction techniques to advance quantum decoherence mitigation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate theoretical models into practical quantum solutions
- Publish cutting-edge research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Secure research funding through federal grants and private partnerships
- Mentor junior researchers and foster a culture of quantum innovation
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field with quantum computing specialization
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quantum algorithm development or quantum hardware research
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and simulation frameworks
- Strong publication record in top-tier quantum computing journals (Nature Physics, Quantum Science & Technology)
- Proven ability to secure competitive research funding (NSF, DARPA, DOE)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems or photonic quantum processors preferred
