Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum circuits on superconducting and photonic platforms
- Collaborate with hardware teams to mitigate quantum decoherence and error correction
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals and present at IEEE/APS conferences
- Secure $2M+ in NSF/DARPA grants for quantum computing initiatives
- Mentor PhD researchers and develop quantum computing curriculum for 2026 workforce readiness
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum programming experience (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency with Python, TensorFlow, and high-performance computing frameworks
- Experience with quantum hardware interfaces (IBM Q, Rigetti, or IonQ)
- Track record of securing federal research funding
