Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Develop error mitigation techniques to enhance quantum gate fidelity in NISQ-era processors
- Lead cross-functional teams to prototype quantum-classical hybrid systems
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors with optimized architectures
- Mentor junior researchers and drive innovation in quantum software development
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoE grants for quantum research initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years quantum research experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and circuit optimization
- Strong background in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proven track record of publishing in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Deep understanding of machine learning frameworks applied to quantum systems
- Ability to translate complex quantum concepts into practical engineering solutions
