Responsibilities
- Architect and execute quantum computing research roadmap targeting 2026 commercialization milestones
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and software developers in quantum algorithm development
- Collaborate with Fortune 500 partners to implement quantum solutions for real-world challenges
- Publish groundbreaking research in peer-reviewed quantum computing journals and conferences
- Secure and manage multi-million dollar research grants from government and private sector
- Mentor junior researchers and establish departmental quantum computing best practices
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
- Proven track record in publishing quantum computing research (minimum 3 Nature/Science papers)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant systems design
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM, Rigetti, or Google Quantum AI)
- Strong background in machine learning and classical-quantum hybrid systems
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding >$5M
- Leadership experience managing R&D teams of 10+ scientists
