Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm development for cryptography, optimization, and machine learning applications
- Design fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures targeting 2026 deployment milestones
- Manage cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and software developers
- Secure $5M+ annual R&D funding through NSF and DARPA grant proposals
- Establish industry partnerships with quantum hardware manufacturers (IBM, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Publish 3+ peer-reviewed papers annually in Nature/Science journals
- Develop quantum security protocols for post-quantum cryptographic standards
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 8+ years experience
- Proven track record of publishing breakthrough quantum computing research
- Expertise in quantum error correction and topological qubit systems
- Strong background in quantum machine learning algorithms
- Experience securing federal research grants ($1M+ preferred)
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, and quantum circuit optimization tools
- Leadership experience managing R&D teams of 15+ scientists
- Active QKD (Quantum Key Distribution) implementation experience
