Responsibilities
- Architect scalable quantum computing hardware systems with 99.99% uptime reliability
- Design cryogenic cooling systems supporting 1,000+ qubit processors
- Develop real-time error correction algorithms for quantum decoherence mitigation
- Integrate quantum-classical hybrid computing workflows for enterprise clients
- Lead R&D for room-temperature quantum chip fabrication processes
- Document quantum system specifications and compliance with NIST quantum standards
- Mentor junior engineers in quantum physics principles and hardware engineering
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field (MS with 5+ years experience considered)
- Proven experience with superconducting qubit architectures or ion trap systems
- Expertise in cryogenic engineering below 10 milliKelvin environments
- Proficiency in quantum error correction codes (surface codes, bosonic codes)
- Familiarity with quantum software development kits (Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane)
- Strong background in FPGA programming for quantum control systems
- Published research in peer-reviewed quantum computing journals
- Security clearance eligibility for government quantum projects
