Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Operate commercial vans and delivery trucks in a safe and professional manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Delivery Management: Execute timely and accurate deliveries to customers in the Portland metropolitan area, including residential and commercial stops.
- Cargo Handling: Safely load, secure, and unload cargo using hand trucks and dollies, ensuring items are protected during transport.
- Customer Interaction: Provide a professional first impression by greeting customers and maintaining a courteous demeanor at every stop.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately.
- Documentation: Complete delivery logs, mileage reports, and any required paperwork accurately and on time.
Qualifications
- License: Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or equivalent commercial driver's permit.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial or delivery setting.
- Record: Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the past 3 years.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Availability: Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and some overtime if required.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and ability to use handheld scanners or delivery apps.
