Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vans to transport goods and materials throughout Washington DC metropolitan area
- Maintain strict adherence to delivery schedules and GPS routing protocols
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs promptly
- Secure cargo using proper loading/unloading techniques and safety equipment
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic tracking documentation
- Provide exceptional customer service during point-of-contact interactions
- Adapt routes in real-time to avoid traffic congestion and construction zones
- Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations and local traffic laws
Qualifications
- Valid Class C Driver's License with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years commercial driving experience with cargo vehicles
- Strong knowledge of Washington DC geography and traffic patterns
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly during loading/unloading
- Pass background check and DOT physical examination
- Proficient with GPS navigation and electronic delivery tracking systems
- Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent required
