As a key member of our fleet, you will play a crucial role in keeping our supply chain moving efficiently across the Bay Area.
Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicles: Drive commercial trucks to deliver freight to designated locations in San Jose and the surrounding Bay Area.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck is in safe operating condition and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of cargo, delivery times, and mileage using electronic logging devices (ELD) and DOT-compliant logs.
- Cargo Handling: Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and handling all goods with care to prevent damage.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to all federal, state, and local traffic laws, as well as company safety policies and DOT regulations.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers at delivery sites to ensure satisfaction and handle any returns or special requests.
Qualifications
- CDL Requirement: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or Class B (depending on vehicle type) with the necessary endorsements (e.g., Hazmat if applicable).
- Driving History: Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of verifiable professional driving experience in a similar role.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting and bending.
- Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to navigate GPS systems and route planning software efficiently.
