Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport goods across Louisiana and regional routes
- Perform pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere to DOT regulations and safety protocols for all deliveries
- Load/unload cargo with proper handling techniques and equipment operation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding delivery status and route changes
- Manage delivery schedules and maintain timely arrival at destinations
- Complete required paperwork and electronic logging systems accurately
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or commitment to obtain within 90 days
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of vehicle safety systems and pre-trip inspection procedures
- Ability to read maps and navigate using GPS technology
- Strong work ethic and punctuality with reliable transportation
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Clean driving record with no major violations in past 3 years
