Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicles: Execute long-haul and regional routes with a strict adherence to safety protocols and traffic laws.
- Load & Unload Freight: Secure cargo using straps, chains, and tarps, ensuring all loads are within legal weight limits and properly documented.
- Maintain Equipment: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues or safety hazards.
- Route Planning: Utilize GPS and mapping software to plan efficient routes, taking into account traffic patterns and delivery windows.
- Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain all required paperwork, including Bill of Lading (BOL), delivery receipts, and logs.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and dock personnel to ensure a smooth delivery process.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A: Must hold a current and valid Commercial Driver's License.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial vehicle.
- Driving Record: Clean MVR with no recent DUI, reckless driving, or at-fault accidents.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years old to operate across state lines.
- Physical Health: Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and meet vision and hearing standards.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to use two-way radios and mobile devices.
