Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A trucks to deliver cargo on schedule and within DOT regulations.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts and tie-downs, ensuring proper securement.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and daily logs.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and route changes.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety protocols, and local traffic laws in Indiana and North Carolina.
- Represent the company professionally at loading docks and customer facilities.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience preferred.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of road maps and traffic patterns for the Indianapolis and NC regions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with cargo handling.
