Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and delivery vans on local and regional routes within the Oakland area.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts and pallet jacks, ensuring proper weight distribution and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic logging device (ELD) compliance at all times.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and clean.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients, including handling freight claims and receipts professionally.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and company safety policies.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or Class B (with required endorsements for cargo type).
- Must possess a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and mechanical issues.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Must be willing to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
