Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) in accordance with FMCSA regulations and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and documentation accuracy.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and delivery documentation.
- Adhere to strict schedules and delivery timelines to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Practice defensive driving techniques to minimize risk and ensure passenger and cargo safety.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding route changes or delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL (Commercial Driver's License) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience (Omnitrans or similar).
- Current Medical Card and DOT physical.
- Pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of roadmaps, traffic laws, and safe driving practices.
- Ability to lift and move cargo, including moving straps and shackles.
- Basic computer skills for logging and documentation.
