Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A) safely and efficiently over long-distance routes (OTR) and regional lanes.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) and delivery documentation for all shipments.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring freight is secured properly and handling with care.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and Hours of Service (HOS) rules.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Report mechanical issues promptly to maintenance and document any accidents or incidents immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A issued by the state.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable OTR (Over-The-Road) driving experience.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations (DUI, reckless driving) in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of interstate highway systems and geography.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to handle minor roadside repairs if necessary.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
