Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial delivery vehicles to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers.
- Load and unload cargo using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other equipment, ensuring weight distribution is balanced.
- Plan efficient routes to minimize fuel consumption and travel time while adhering to traffic laws.
- Interact professionally with customers, handle cash/card payments, and resolve delivery issues on-site.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle at all times.
- Complete all required delivery documentation, including bills of lading and vehicle inspection reports.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and local traffic regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Previous experience in route delivery, logistics, or freight transportation preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with the Chicago metropolitan area streets and geography is a plus.
