Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A trucks and trailers on highways and local routes within Texas and surrounding states.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) while adhering to weight limits and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs (DVIR) and complete all necessary delivery paperwork and billing documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Uphold a strict adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) and company safety policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Current Medical Card and DOT physical.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and communication apps.
