Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and trailers on various routes within the United States.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and daily logs.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and route changes.
- Keep the truck and cargo area clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the state of Illinois or equivalent.
- Absolutely no DUIs or serious moving violations within the last 3-5 years.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience (Class A preferred).
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to handle stressful situations professionally.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional weekends if necessary.
- Basic proficiency with handheld devices and navigation systems.
