Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial delivery trucks and vans in the Washington DC metropolitan area.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing items to prevent damage.
- Verify delivery addresses and obtain digital signatures from recipients.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (DVIR) and report any mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic records of hours worked and mileage driven.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and DOT regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Current DOT Medical Card and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) compliant with company standards.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and local road conditions in DC.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks repeatedly.
- Basic computer skills for electronic logging and communication.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
