Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and vans safely and efficiently on various routes throughout Los Angeles and surrounding areas.
- Perform comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Load and unload cargo accurately, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate daily logs (DVIR) and Electronic Logging Device (ELD) records in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Navigate traffic patterns and delivery schedules to ensure timely arrivals at customer locations.
- Interact professionally with customers, warehouse staff, and vendors during pick-up and drop-off processes.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean, and report any mechanical issues immediately to management.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (no DUIs or major violations in the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable experience driving commercial vehicles.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, road safety regulations, and vehicle handling.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation to and from the terminal or designated meeting point.
- Basic computer skills for logging and reporting.
