Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing cargo for transit.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving time, miles, and fuel usage using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD).
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery schedules and route changes.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the truck cab and cargo area at the end of each shift.
- Handle customer interactions professionally, resolving any issues that may arise during delivery.
Qualifications
- Clean Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT card) must be current.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety protocols.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy objects and handle the rigors of the job.
- Excellent time management skills and a commitment to punctuality.
