Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks safely and efficiently on assigned routes, including cross-country regional hauls.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) and secure freight according to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate daily logs (ELD) and ensure all delivery paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding traffic conditions, delivery delays, and route changes.
- Adhere strictly to FMCSA regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies at all times.
- Represent the company professionally while interacting with customers and dock personnel.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Must possess a current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience within the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of interstate commerce laws and California road conditions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor vehicle troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict delivery deadlines.
