Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks (26,000+ GVW) for local and regional deliveries
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Plan efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery deadlines
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and paperwork for inventory tracking
- Perform pre-trip inspections and basic vehicle maintenance checks
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status
- Handle specialized freight requiring temperature control or hazardous materials endorsement
Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement (Class A preferred)
- Minimum 2 years commercial driving experience
- Clean MVR with no major violations in the past 3 years
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds repeatedly and climb into trailer beds
- Strong knowledge of Boston area traffic patterns and delivery zones
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Pass background check and drug screening requirements
- Basic computer skills for electronic logging device (ELD) operation
