Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following all traffic laws and district policies
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance
- Maintain a secure and positive environment for students during transit
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Adhere to strict schedules and manage time efficiently across multiple routes
- Complete incident reports and maintenance documentation as required
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements
- Minimum 1 year of professional driving experience
- Clear driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse student populations
- Background clearance through LiveScan fingerprinting
