Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Manage student behavior with firm yet compassionate guidance
- Ensure all safety protocols (seatbelts, emergency exits) are followed
- Maintain accurate transportation records and incident reports
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation regulations
Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Clean driving record (minimum 3 years)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb bus steps repeatedly
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient demeanor with strong student management abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass criminal background check
