Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness standards
- Manage student boarding, exiting, and conduct with positive reinforcement techniques
- Adapt routes for field trips, athletic events, and special transportation needs
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Follow all federal/state DOT regulations and district policies
- Document incidents and maintain accurate transportation logs
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement
- Minimum 1 year professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background clearance
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Excellent communication skills and patience with children
- Flexible availability for early mornings, afternoons, and occasional weekends
- Knowledge of Fresno area streets and traffic patterns
