Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes while adhering to traffic laws
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Supervise student boarding/alighting and ensure proper safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Manage student behavior with patience and professionalism
- Report maintenance issues and complete daily logs
- Participate in seasonal route planning and training sessions
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan driver's license with clean record (3+ years driving experience)
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to obtain CDL Class B with P endorsement (training provided)
- Experience working with children preferred
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist with mobility needs
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
