Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes adhering to strict schedules
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle maintenance compliance
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate attendance records and route documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Follow all federal, state, and district transportation regulations
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and ensure student safety at all times
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger & School Bus endorsements
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Clean driving record (no DUIs in past 5 years)
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Child CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication skills and patience working with children
- Knowledge of San Francisco streets and traffic patterns
