Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on assigned routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Ensure student safety through proper boarding, seating, and emergency protocols
- Maintain a positive, orderly bus environment with clear communication
- Adhere to all traffic laws and district transportation policies
- Document incidents and submit accurate route reports
- Assist students with mobility needs as required
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 21 years of age with clean driving record
- Pass federal background check and random drug screenings
- Ability to obtain required DOT medical certification
- Strong interpersonal skills and patience with children
- Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent required
