Responsibilities
- Safely operate school bus routes on designated schedules
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Enforce student safety protocols and behavior standards
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident reports
- Adhere to Hawaii Department of Transportation regulations
- Provide first aid assistance when necessary
Qualifications
- Valid Hawaii Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus Endorsement
- Minimum 1 year professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist mobility-impaired students
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Pass background check and fingerprinting
