Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from schools and field trips following strict schedules
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance reports
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement and safety protocols
- Maintain clean and orderly bus interiors
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to NJ DOT and school district transportation regulations
- Assist students with mobility needs (wheelchair/bus lifts)
Qualifications
- Valid NJ Driver's License with clean record (3+ years driving experience)
- Ability to obtain CDL with School Bus/P endorsement (training provided)
- Pass background check and DOT physical examination
- Strong communication skills and patience with children
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and navigate emergency procedures
- Reliable attendance and punctuality for AM/PM shifts
- Basic first aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience working with children preferred
