Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and field trips following designated routes
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and ensure mechanical safety
- Maintain student discipline and create a positive bus environment
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and district safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Complete daily logbooks and incident reports accurately
- Assist students with mobility needs including wheelchair accessibility
Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 1 year driving experience (commercial or personal)
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening (provided)
- Clear background check and driving record
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist with student mobility
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Availability for morning/evening shifts (6-8 hours/week)
