Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Enforce safety protocols during boarding, transit, and disembarkation
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation regulations and district policies
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and student incidents
- Complete accurate daily logs and incident reports
Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger/School Bus endorsement
- Clean driving record (minimum 3 years)
- Pass background check and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
