Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses following all traffic laws and district protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and functionality
- Maintain accurate student attendance records and route documentation
- Provide a secure and nurturing environment for student passengers
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Respond appropriately to student needs and emergency situations
- Adhere to strict punctuality and schedule adherence requirements
Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (Class B with P/S endorsement)
- Minimum 1 year of driving experience (commercial driving preferred)
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage student behavior professionally
- Physical ability to assist students with mobility needs
- Must be 21+ years old with clean driving record
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
