Responsibilities
- Safely transport K-12 students on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Maintain a positive, respectful environment for all passengers
- Adapt routes for field trips, athletic events, and extracurricular activities
- Adhere to all California DMV regulations and school district policies
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and transportation supervisors
- Document incidents and maintain accurate mileage/reports
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement
- Minimum 25 years of age with clean driving record (3+ years)
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Background clearance through DOJ/FBI fingerprinting
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts if needed
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Patience and ability to manage student behavior appropriately
- Commitment to punctuality and reliability
