Responsibilities
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
- Secure cargo using straps, chains, and binders to prevent shifting during transit.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records in strict accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Deliver freight to designated drop-off points while adhering to strict time schedules.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding route changes or delays.
- Keep the cab and cargo area clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid New York State Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements.
- Must possess a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination (Medical Card required).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with the public.
- Basic computer literacy for logging hours and accessing navigation apps.
