Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and trailers over assigned local routes in the Charlotte metro area.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Load and unload freight efficiently, ensuring cargo security and proper handling.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation in accordance with DOT hours of service requirements.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and traffic laws at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Current DOT medical card and valid DOT physical.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and communication.
- Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Charlotte, NC.
