Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks for local deliveries and pick-ups within the Austin metro area.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and proper maintenance.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing, weight distribution, and documentation.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (eLog) and daily logbooks in strict accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Interact professionally with customers and verify delivery details upon arrival.
- Keep the truck cabin and cargo area clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
- Adhere to all company policies, traffic laws, and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT physical) meeting Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of local Austin, TX geography and street routes.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Physically capable of lifting and moving packages weighing up to 50 lbs and performing manual tasks.
- Basic computer literacy for digital documentation.
