Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Safely operate commercial delivery vehicles to transport freight to designated locations in and around Orlando, FL.
- Loading & Unloading: Properly load and unload cargo using forklifts or pallet jacks, ensuring weight distribution is safe and secure.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues immediately.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel, and delivery logs (DVIR).
- Customer Interaction: Provide professional service to clients, handle signatures, and resolve delivery issues efficiently.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and company safety protocols.
Qualifications
- License: Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in local freight driving or related logistics roles.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods during loading/unloading.
- Documentation: Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Technical Skills: Basic proficiency with handheld scanners or delivery software is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor.
