Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight between Indianapolis warehouses and distribution centers
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations
- Load/unload shipments using proper equipment and material handling techniques
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for all transit activities
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status and delays
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and defensive driving practices
- Assist in freight sorting and inventory verification at facilities
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience in freight transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and operate pallet jacks
- Familiarity with Indianapolis metro area roadways and industrial zones
- Strong time management skills with punctual delivery performance
- Basic knowledge of DOT regulations and safety compliance
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends
