Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight between Chicago warehouses and distribution centers
- Perform thorough pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate delivery logs
- Load/unload cargo using appropriate equipment while ensuring secure handling
- Navigate Chicago metropolitan area efficiently using GPS and route optimization
- Communicate shipment status to dispatch and clients in real-time
- Adhere to DOT regulations and company safety protocols at all times
- Assist in inventory management and quality control checks
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Clean MVR with no major violations in past 3 years
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds repeatedly and operate pallet jacks
- Strong knowledge of Chicago area roadways and traffic patterns
- DOT medical certification current
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings and weekends
