Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight between warehouses, distribution centers, and client locations
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Load/unload freight using pallet jacks, forklifts, and manual handling techniques
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Manage delivery documentation and provide real-time shipment updates via GPS tracking
- Collaborate with logistics team to optimize delivery routes and schedules
- Maintain clean driving record and report any incidents or road hazards immediately
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year commercial driving experience with freight or box truck handling
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate basic warehouse equipment
- Strong knowledge of NJ/NYC metropolitan area roadways
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and weekends
- Basic computer literacy for digital logging systems
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
