Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy dump trucks to transport materials (asphalt, dirt, gravel) to various construction sites.
- Load and unload materials efficiently using front-end loaders or forklifts.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and digital reporting systems for compliance.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with site foremen and dispatch regarding delivery times and route changes.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience driving dump trucks or heavy haulage vehicles.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy loads and working in varying weather conditions.
- Strong knowledge of local Tampa roads and traffic patterns.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
