Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A CDL) for regional deliveries within 150-mile radius of Raleigh
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and document maintenance reports
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Load/unload freight with proper equipment and securement techniques
- Optimize routes using GPS technology for on-time deliveries
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic logging device (ELD) records
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding route changes or delays
- Represent Swift Transport with professional appearance and customer service
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with North Carolina roadways and weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of cargo securement and weight distribution
- Strong time management and route optimization skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and operate loading equipment
- Professional communication skills for customer interactions
