Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A/B commercial vehicles to transport goods across Virginia
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate DOT compliance records
- Load/unload cargo with proper equipment handling techniques
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules and route optimization
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status
- Implement defensive driving practices in all weather conditions
- Report vehicle maintenance issues and safety concerns promptly
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or B license with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year commercial driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with HAZMAT regulations (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Virginia roadways and traffic laws
- Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and operate loading equipment
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
