Your Mission
As a part-time driver, you will play a crucial role in keeping our supply chain moving. You will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to local and regional destinations. We are looking for professionals who take pride in their workmanship and understand the importance of timely deliveries in the busy Long Beach area.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (Class A or B) in accordance with FMCSA regulations and company policies.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and security of the cargo and vehicle.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate material handling equipment, ensuring weight distribution is correct.
- Maintain accurate records in electronic logging devices (ELD) and daily logs, adhering to Hours of Service (HOS) rules.
- Navigate Long Beach and surrounding areas efficiently to meet tight delivery deadlines.
- Communicate clearly with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding route changes or delivery issues.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and presentable at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A or B) with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Must be at least 21 years of age to operate a commercial vehicle across state lines.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and possess a Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety protocols specific to California and the Port of Long Beach.
- Availability to work part-time hours, including nights, weekends, or holidays as required.
- Basic math skills for inventory management and cargo documentation.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with valid medical card.
